Better Luxury Holiday for Your Honeymoon

When most brides begin planning their weddings and honeymoons, they think, "What's the big deal?" They feel like they have plenty of time to plan and that everything will come together without too many problems. They soon find out that weddings are incredibly stressful, for a variety of reasons. This is why so many brides-to-be come unglued in the final few months before the wedding and start acting like bridezillas.

The trouble is, with even the best preparation and the perfect wedding planner, things still can and do go wrong. Maybe half of the flowers you ordered arrived at the florist in bad shape, and you need to decide on a last minute substitution. Perhaps your dress doesn't fit quite as you'd imagined. Maybe your maid of honour - who you thought would be there to support you - just got a new job and can't be there for you when you need her most.

European Cruising

The euro cruise vacation still ranks as an exceptional value. As the currency values continue to fluctuate, the cost of enjoying an adventure on the sea becomes even more appealing

The price for your cruise includes not only ship passage but also covers all accommodations onboard. This not only includes your cabin or room but also a meals, activities, use of the facilities and even entertainment. The actual cost of a euro cruise may at first seem a bit high but once all costs are considered, the value becomes even more apparent.

The biggest benefit of a cruise vacation above all else however has to be the Ports of call. These are the places, cities, or islands where the ship stops for a day or so. Imagine being onboard a modern cruise ship unpacking 1 time but still enjoying a full week of travel and new locations!

At each stop, you can experience a new culture, pace or historical area without the stress of constantly moving and relocating to yet another hotel. Another perk of the cruising vacation are the ship sponsored or suggested excursions. These are sightseeing tours and adventures specially designed for maximum guest enjoyment. These day trips usually feature the more most important or significant aspects of the area being visited. The trips are reasonably priced and your satisfaction is important as these trips and thecruise ship business is very important to the local economy. The people providing the service on these trips have a vested interest in seeing that cruising passengers are happy

The number of excursions is very much dependant on the length of your vacation and locale. Some of the more remote cruse destinations have far fewer opportunities for these extra activities while some specialize in a new port every day!

Excursions are also designed far a wide variety of traveler. From the very physical climbing a waterfall to the I want to just sit and enjoy the scenery group, there's a special excursion designed for just what you like. Longer trips usually include a lunch or on occasion is provided by thecruise ship directly.

The final thought is to really consider the benefits of a cruise when thinking about this years vacation. A euro cruise is probably the best way to see some beautiful European scenery while also not breaking the bank on the costs.

Yacht Charter in the Central Cyclades

The areas prevailing wind during the summer months is the infamous Meltemi blowing from the N-NW. It is first felt in June and becomes stronger through July, August and September when it can reach force 8. It dies down in October. In the spring and autumn gales are common from the N and the SE. The summer months are hot, average temperatures are 25 deg C and temperatures often reach 35 deg C.

Milos is the southwesternmost of the Cyclades. A large bay, Ormos Milou, was scooped out when an ancient volcano erupted and hot sulphur springs still exist today. Adhamas is the island's port Go bow or stern to the E side of the ferry pier or bow to the smaller pier to the E. It is also possible to anchor off to the SE of the short pier. The bottom is mud rocks and weed and poor holding in places. There is good shelter from the Meltemi but winds from the south can produce dangerous conditions. There is water on the ferry pier and fuel can be delivered. Most provisions can be obtained in the village and there are some tavernas. Climb the hill to the Chora at Milos for breathtaking views across the bay. There are several other anchorages in the bay that are exposed to the north. There are no facilities at any of them. Apollonia is in the NE of Milos. Go bow or stern to the pier or anchor of the beach. Holding is good on a sandy bottom. There are tavernas and a mini market ashore. Ormos Voudhia lies one mile to the south of Apollonia. There is good shelter from the Meltemi but the surroundings are unattractive with open cast mines and a wharf and ore carrier all in view.

Kimilos lies to the NE of Milos. There are two anchorages in Ormos Sikia in the SW of the island. They are exposed to the N - NW and unsuitable when the Meltemi is blowing. Pirgonisi is a long sandy beach on the south coast and yachts can anchor almost anywhere along it in attractive surroundings. Good holding on sand and weed. Psathi lies further along the coast to the east. Go bows to the quay or anchor off. There is little shelter from the Meltemi and yachts are advised to use this anchorage only in calm weather. There are a couple of tavernas ashore and limited provisions can be obtained in the village. Just to the north is Semina Creek andyachts can anchor in the bay. Like Psathi, there is little shelter from the Meltemi and Psathi should be used only in calm weather.

The in the NW of island of Poliagos there is a lovely secluded anchorage just to the south of the tiny island of Moanolsi. There is shelter from the Meltemi and good holding on the sandy bottom. On the south side ofthe island there are several coves that yachts can anchor in when conditions are calm.

Folegandros is another barren, rocky island with exception of the small Chora in the NE that lies among green trees and shrubs. The island's ferry port is Karavostasi. Go bow or stern to the mole on the south side of the arm extending westward. There is poor holding in places on sand and rock. There is reasonable shelter from the Meltemi. There are several tavernas but provisions can be difficult to obtain andthe island is totally reliant on deliveries by ferry. On the W side of Folegandros is the large bay, Ormos Vathi. It can only be used in calm weather and there is poor holding in places on sand and weed.

Sikinos lies to the E of Folegandros. Ormos Skala is the only harbour on the island. Yachts can go alongside the quay or anchor off. There are tavernas ashore and some provisions can be obtained. The setting is attractive and popular with Greek tourists.

Forgotten Royal Island

For a Mediterranean island with good year round weather, a friendly local English speaking population and facilities to rival that of any of her competitors, Malta is a suprisingly often forgotten island for many people planning a holiday in the Mediterranean.

Malta missed some of her own government's tourist targets in 2005, but a recent visit by Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh resulted in four days of positive media coverage in the island's most important market – the United Kingdom – and also in over 50 other countries attending the Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting, including Canada and Australia.

The Queen began her official visit to Malta before she opened the meeting, and was warmly greeted by friendly islanders.

Malta was governed by the British for a hundred and fifty years, and became independent in 1964. But the island has retained many British characteristics, including driving on the left, and British visitors account for nearly half of the island's tourists.

The George Cross ranks with the Victoria Cross as Britain's highest award for bravery – and Malta was awarded the Cross in 1942 by King George VI for the island's resistance to German attempts to occupy the island, with Malta being under almost constant attack from June 1940.

As well as the challenge of drawing tourists away from other Mediterranean islands like Mallorca and Menorca, Malta has had to face the additional challenge of new holiday destinations in the former Eastern Bloc opening up, such as Bulgaria and Croatia, which tend to be cheaper.

Brighter Future

But where the Maltese tourist board has singularly failed to market the island's appeal to the mass holiday market with any degree of success in recent years, the Queen's visit has come at the right time for hotels and holiday companies hoping for a good 2006.

Tribune Properties, a British based company specialising in overseas properties including Malta comment:

'Malta is not a high priority on the list of holiday destinations for many British people compared to the Spanish Costas, Canary and Balearic Islands. The visit of the Queen showedMalta in a very positive light, and hopefully the island's tourist officials will be able to capitalise on the trip and increase hotel and holiday bookings in the months ahead. Given Malta's past record of promotion though if 2006 sees an increase in visitors it will be despite of the official promotions, and not because of it.'.

More good news for the Malta holiday industry came in October with the announcement that low cost airlines had been been given the right to fly to the island.

'This will help both the hotel and property industries in Malta' add Tribune. 'With the cost of getting to the island coming down, Malta should see her share of the short stay European holiday market increase substantially, increasing employment locally and benefitting the economy overall'.

Vacation Home Rental

You love having a second home but the mortgage is putting a crater in your wallet. Many second home owners turn to renting their property as a vacation rental to help defray the costs of ownership. How do you price a vacation home rental without overcharging but making enough to cover your costs? Do your research.

Find out what other owners of, similar sized homes in the area are charging. You can ask a local real estate agent for a price range, scan local papers or go online. There are also vacation rental sites like eVaca.com. These types of sites have advertisements from owners around the world and weekly rates for the properties are listed.

The time of year you rent out a property is important as well. If you want to rent out a ski lodge in Vermont, August is not going to be your "high time" of year, but January will. If you are going to rent the property in an "off" time of year you will not be able to charge as much as if you were renting the property in a peak time.

You also want to figure out what lengths you want to rent your property for. A Florida property in July near the beach will go for top dollar for a week. However, that same property in January you might only attract the snowbirds who want to rent at a lower price and rent it out on a monthly basis. You have to answer questions like, "do I want to mess around with weekend or nightly rentals" and "is it worth the hassle"

Figure out how many weeks you need to rent your property in order to make a profit or at least pay the bills. Say you need to make $12000 a year in rental income. If, after looking at other rentals, a rate of maybe $1,000 a week seems reasonable than you know you need to rent the property out for at least 12 weeks a year. But you might have to rent for a few more weeks at a lower rate to make up for "off peak" times of the year or if you do not get someone to fill every vacant period.

Most important, do not forget to spend time in your own vacation home. Owning the property and not being able to enjoy it defeats the purpose of having that second home!

Cruise Travel

Going on vacation with your loved ones can be an exciting and a fun experience for everyone. There are many possibilities when it comes to spending your vacation at sea. There is a cruise holiday that will suit everyone. You might ask yourself, "Where do I start?" Well, the first step is to figure out where you want to go. This might be the hardest step in planning your vacation but once you get past it, everything is a breeze.

There are cruises that go all over the world. Your choices could take you to Alaska or Venice and everywhere in between. Some factors that might help you in your decision-making are the possible ports you may want to visit, or cities of departure you prefer. You may want to depart from a city close to your home or a city you have always wanted to visit. This will limit your choices of ships embarking from those homeports.

Once you have figured out where you want to go, your next step is to decide what cruise company and ship you prefer. Today's cruise ships are some of the most innovative and advanced ships ever built. They offer many features that fit everyone's tastes. Some of the features include rock-climbing walls, self-leveling pool tables, ice-skating rinks and many shops and restaurants. These are just some of the many examples of what to expect from a cruise ship. There are many more amenities, as well as exciting activities that will make you forget to leave the ship even when you are at a port.

When choosing a cruise company, there are certain factors you will need to deal with before booking a reservation. First, read consumer reports regarding a ship's services. Then you confirm that they will actually stop at places they say they will. Remember that a happy occasion can easily become a very frustrating one quickly. The only way to prevent this is to be prepared and to do your research.

Best Deals on Hotel Lodging

There is no doubt that hotel costs are among the biggest part of any vacation budget, and the failure to find affordable lodging has harpooned many an otherwise well planned vacation. One of the keys to enjoying a great vacation without breaking the bank is striking the best possible deal on the roof over your head.

Fortunately, the internet has made the process of finding a great hotel deal much easier. There are some great hotel, motel, and bed and breakfast deals out there, and the internet has made them easier to find than ever.

Booking ahead is essential, as is shopping around. You simply cannot expect to simply show up at a hotel and get a good rate. Most hotel chains reserve their best room rates, and they limit their numbers. Once those low cost rooms are booked, they are simply no longer available.
Justify Full
It is also important to book ahead because it can be difficult to gauge the demand for lording in a particular area, even if you are familiar with your destination. Special events of which you are unaware could cause a spike in hotel demand, and hotel prices, and leave you either paying an arm and a leg for a place to sleep, or, worse yet, find yourself without a place to stay at all.

It is also important to take advantage of all discounts to which you may be entitled, and not be shy about asking for discounts. Manyhotel chains and independent hotels offer discounts to those in the military, senior citizens, and members of travel clubs like AAA. If you think you are entitled to a discount, be sure to ask, and be sure to verify that the discount has been applied when you arrive.

In addition, many hotel chains offer programs that are similar to airline frequent flier programs. These programs reward loyal guests with free nights and other rewards. It is important to sign up for these programs whenever you can. Most of these programs are free, so signing up will cost you nothing, and you could end up with a free hotel stay.

When looking for those great hotel deals, a number of web sites compare hotels by price, star level, and even proximity to certain tourist attractions. It is always best to search several of these sites, since not allhotel chains participate in every comparison site.

There is no doubt that finding a great hotel rate will take some time and some hard work, but it is very important to keeping your travel budget under control. The cost of lodging often represents at least half, and often much more, of the total cost of a vacation. It is easy to see, then, how getting the best possible deal on your hotel can keep your cost level low and your vacation fun level high.

Pembroke Castle, Pembrokeshire, Wales

Pembroke - Pembrokeshire, Wales, is a very important town in its area. It contains Pembroke Castle, which attracts huge numbers of tourists and scholars every year. It is merely a ruin now, though a very well-maintained ruin. It has gained a great deal of publicity over the years, mainly because it was the birth place of King Henry VII.

It was influential long before King Henry VII, though. This was a major area to first convert to Christianity. There was a great deal of struggle going from the pagan religions to the Christian one. This is why many of the Christian structures in town were used not only as religious buildings, but also as defensive ones. One building in particular lasted long enough to be Oliver Cromwell's headquarters and then, in the nineteenth century, became a brewery for a local tavern.

Early structures and ruins are everywhere in the town. Scholars love the area because it provides so much information about all of British history, from the Iron age to the present day. There is still much that has yet to be learned. There is even the site of a Knights Templar building which burned down, no doubt destroying many secrets of the order.

Even though the town has a rich past, it manages to stay very up-to-date. There are many recently constructed buildings to make room for the expanding population. It is still not a huge town, though. There are only about seven thousand people, which allows it to stay quaint. It also allows for more room for shopping centers, museums, and larger public buildings.

The geography of the place has contributed to its long-lasting success. Ample farmland is available, in addition to forests which make for good lumber trade. Though in a valley and therefore in a bad spot for military defense, it is very close to a river. This makes escape (or the more frequently used, shipping) easier.

What the river is primarily used for today is transportation to the important town of Cardiff. Apart from road and river, Pembroke also has a good railroad line. The only thing it lacks is its own airport, since it is not quite large enough to merit one. However, Cardiff has its own airport and since transportation is so easy between these two towns, there is little problem.

Though many towns focus on their cricket and football teams, Pembroke is known for its rugby. Though the other two types of teams are both available in Pembroke, rugby is where the town's strengths lie. Any sports fan who visits will get plenty of entertainment.
